Neutrogena Beach Defence Sunscreen Review

Hi beauties! I hope that you had a lovely weekend, mine has been awesome - it was super hot on both days so I finally got the chance to use our backyard pool for the first time this summer! Given that the weather forecast is going to be super hot for the next week as well, I thought it would be the perfect time to share my favorite new sunscreen with you.

Neutrogena recently released their new Beach Defence Sunscreen in these bright yellow bottles which I think are not only functional but super funky as well. The best thing about them is that they are so easy to spot amongst all the stuff in my beach bag!

The thing that sets these products apart from other sunscreen on the market is the fact that they contain SPF 50+ providing the best protection available for your skin and we all know how important that is in the harsh Australian sun. Along with the SPF protection, it also contains protection against the sun's harmful UVA and UVB rays and is 4 hours water resistant, oil free and PABA free.

As you can see from the pictures above, I have this sunscreen in both the lotion and the spray formula. Both are great to use, although I have to admit that the spray is my favorite. I never thought that I would like a sunscreen in a spray formula as I have always enjoyed using lotions but since using this product, I have been converted!

Spray formula
  • The sunscreen spray comes in a well sized 184g bottle which has a spray nozzle which dispenses a light mist. It is perfect for carrying around on the go because the nozzle twists to lock so there is no chance of getting sunscreen all over your bag.
  • I love how light the formula is and it is not at all greasy! You can't even feel like you're wearing it because it is so light!

Lotion Formula
  • The lotion formula comes in a 198ml bottle which is big enough that it will last a good while and small enough to carry around. The lotion is a great consistency - not too runny or too thick, so it is easy to apply and rub into the skin. It has the usual sunscreen scent but that doesn't bother me.
  • I find that this sunscreen is less greasy than your conventional sunscreen. It is not as light as the spray version but it still doesn't make me feel like a grease-ball when wearing it.

Overall I am so glad that I have finally discovered a sunscreen that is not greasy! Both the spray and the lotion formulas of this sunscreen are great as they don't make me feel uncomfortable when wearing them unlike conventional sunscreen. I feel protected when using this sunscreen and just like most Neutrogena products that I have used, these don't cause any irritation to my sensitive skin.

Both the lotion and the spray retail at $16.99 at my local Pricelne.

Disclaimer: The Neutrogena sunscreen was kindly sent to me for consideration to review. I was not paid for my review nor am I affiliated with the company in any way. My 100% honest opinion, as always :)
