Hi everyone! I know that most of you are probably in the middle of your Christmas shopping at the moment so I thought that it would be the perfect time for me to share a couple of my top picks for Christmas presents this year. Every year, I purchase a Jurlique Christmas gift set for my mum and she absolutely loves it! This year, I finally got the chance to try some Jurlique products and I have to say that I now see what all the fuss is about and why my mum loves them so much.
The two sets that I am going to be reviewing today are perfect Christmas gifts for that special someone or even as a nice treat for yourself.
The first set that I am going to be talking about is the Rose Moisture Plus Essentials kit which contains the following:
- Rosewater balancing mist
- Moisturising cleanser; and
- Moisturising lotion.
All the products in this set smell beautiful, just like freshly picked roses and contain natural antioxidants to ensure that your skin is left hydrated and silky soft.
The Rosewater Balancing Mist (RRP $35.00)
The rosewater balancing mist comes in a cute 50ml glass bottle that looks so luxurious. It also has a spray nozzle which dispenses a fine mist which makes the product feel light and refreshing on the skin.
I spray two pumps of the mist onto my entire face and rub leftover product on my face. The product is very light in consistency that you don't even feel that you have applied anything on your face. It is also not greasy nor does it cause my skin to get oily. I think that it works beautifully as a toner and that's how I like to use it.
Moisturising Cleanser (RRP $32.00)
This cleanser is really lovely to use. It has a mousse like consistency that is light and fluffy but lathers nicely once it comes into contact with water. The cleanser makes my skin feel squeaky clean - maybe too clean, because I feel that my skin tends to feel dry after using this product. I like the fact that it smells nice just like the other products in this range and comes in a well sized 100ml bottle so I feel that I get good value for money from it.
According to the Jurlique website this product contains pumice which is a "micro-fine natural exfoliator that lightly polishes and smooths the skin and Willor Bark Extract which is a natural form of salicylic acid that enhances cell turnover while dissolving dirt and impurities". It also contains my personal favorite ingredient of all time - rose hip oil (you can read more about why I like it so much here).
Moisturising lotion (RRP $45.00)
Just like the balancing mist, the moisturiser comes in a 50ml glass bottle. It has a pump dispenser which is great because it always dispenses the perfect amount of product (I find two pumps covers my entire face), I also prefer the pump dispenser because it is more hygienic as you don't touch the product.
The moisturiser is beautifully light on the skin and absorbs pretty much instantly. It is not heavy on the skin, nor does it feel greasy. I love to wear it underneath my makeup as it forms the perfect base since it is so light. This product also contains rose hip oil which is a huge positive because of the anti ageing properties it has as well as hydration for the skin.
Given that if you purchased each of the above products separately, they would cost around $112.00 this value gift set is great value for money. Rose Moisture Plus Essentials retails at $85.
The Hand Picked Lavender Essentials gift set is also a great choice because it is affordable and contains two fabulous Jurlique products - a Lavender Hand Cream and a Love Balm.
The Lavender Hand Cream comes in a generously sized 125ml tube which is awesome because a little goes a long way with this product so I can see it lasting a good while. The product is beautifully scented like lavender but not too overpowering. It makes such a difference to my hands, I cannot describe it, you have to try it for yourself!
At work, the soap we use in the bathrooms is quite drying so I suffer from very dry hands. I go through hand creams like crazy because of this. However, since discovering this Jurlique hand cream, my hands have never felt so soft. I feel that the product absorbs quickly into the skin and does not leave a greasy residue as long as you don't apply too much of it. It makes your hands beautifully soft and the softness actually lasts, unlike other hand creams that only provide temporary relief. I have found that since I have started using this hand cream, my hands feel much better and softer overall so I can definitely see that this product is working well for me. I keep it on my desk at work so that I can have nice smelling hands all day!
The Love Balm is a great little product which is lightly scented of tangerine oil. It is super light and works well in moisturising dry, chapped lips and even nail cuticles! It feels very light when applied, almost like you are not wearing it at all. As soon as you apply the product onto your lips, you can feel that it works because it instantly transforms your lips into feeling super soft. I love this product in summer, but I have a feeling that it will be even better in winter when I tend to suffer from dry lips.
The Hand Picked Lavender Essentials retails at $49 which is great value for money as both of the products will last a good while before they are used up.
Overall, I have fallen in love with Jurlique products this Christmas and the gift sets definitely made the products more affordable than ever before. I like the fact that the products are made from natural ingredients without harsh chemicals and what's more, they are also Australian made and owned! Most importantly, none of the products I mentioned in my review today, caused me any breakouts or irritation to my eczema prone skin.
Disclaimer: The Jurlique products were kindly sent to me for consideration to review. I was not paid for my review nor am I affiliated with the company in any way. My 100% honest opinion, as always :)
