Schwarzkopf Igora Conditioning Colour Gloss

Hi beauties, today we will be talking about the most recent hair toner that I have been trying. If you have ever been blonde then you are probably already well aware of the importance of toning your hair if you want to reduce the golden tones in your hair.

After my latest hairdressing disaster (don't get me started as it would take a whole other blog post on that!) I had to resort to going to my local Price Attack store and asked the sales assistant to sell me the strongest toner that they had available in store. She instantly knew the exact product I needed and recommended that I purchase the Schwarzkopf Igora Conditioning Colour Gloss in the colour 'Iceflower' (9.5 - 1). I was so desperate that I had no choice but to go with her recommendation and hope for the best.

It is so hard to be a consumer when you are at the mercy of the sales assistant who claims to be a hairdresser as well - I am not a hairdresser so I have no choice but to hope that they know what they are talking about. My ever increasing number of hair disasters is starting to make me fear going to the hairdresser these days! All I need is just one hairdresser that won't ruin my hair (if you can recommend a good one in WA then I would love to hear from you!).

To say that I am disappointed with this product would be an understatement. As soon as I dispensed a small ball onto my hand, I got worried that this product would not be strong enough - let's be honest, it barely looks purple so how is it meant to tone my hair?

Either way, I followed the instructions on the back of the bottle and applied it onto my hair. I even kept it in my hair for around 30 minutes (recommended time is 15-20 minutes on the bottle) and the results were terrible. After all that effort, this product made no noticeable difference to my hair!

I feel that this product was a complete waste of money - and it's not as if it was super cheap either, it cost me around $20.00 for a small 92g can. The only thing that it did for my hair is that it made it feel a little bit softer but that's it - nothing else.

I have tried this product twice now with no avail so I'll be throwing out the remainder. I think that this product is not for people who need a lot of toning like myself and is perhaps, better suited for ladies who have platinum blonde hair and are concerned about over toning. Otherwise, if you need something a little stronger then this product is just not going to cut it. I definitely don't recommend it and would rather stick to my trusty purple shampoo to do the job right.

Have you bought a product recently that did not meet your expectations at all? I want to hear about your experiences as well so let me know below.

Schwarzkopf is considered pretty expensive for a drugstore product. I'm sorry you didn't like this. I recently experienced the same thing, it's also from Schwarzkopf (weirdly) :/ I wrote the review on my blog if you don't mind to check it out :)

I go to LASH Hairdressing in Mt Lawley. It's reasonably priced (which is unusual for a Mt Lawley salon!) and I've never in 5 years had a single problem with any style, colour or cut. I've been red to blonde back to dark back to blonde. Steve who is the owner, is without a doubt a hair DEITY. Never fails. I've sent numerous friends and family and they all rave :)

Baylayage in subiaco are amazing! I went there with a broken, brassy blonde disaster, very afraid I'd have to chop all my hair off. Not only did they save my hair, the root fade colour and toning is amazing, and much easier to maintain. They aren't cheap, but you get more than your money's worth. Can't praise them enough, all the girls are wonderful and they actually listen to you!
