I really liked being blonde but all the bleach and the chemicals took a toll on my hair. It was so brittle and damaged. Even though I have coloured my hair darker now, the damage still remains so I have been trying out a few different hair masks to help repair it.
The latest product that I have been using has been the Intensive Strengthening Masque by Matrix.
According to the packaging this product is formulated to "help prevent breakage and repair damaged, chemically treated hair".
The product comes in quite a small 150ml jar which is much smaller than some of the other hair masks that I have used (but it is also cheaper for that reason). The product has a lovely soft scent from the jar but it is quite thin in consistency. It is relatively runny so applying it is a fiddly process.
I found that using this product a couple of times a week helped improve the texture of my hair. After using this product I noticed that my hair was instantly soft and smooth. It felt nourished and moisturized which was a welcome change to my dry locks. Although this feeling didn't last more than 2 days.
Overall, even though I enjoyed using this product I probably won't be repurchasing as I haven't been overly impressed with it to warrant spending so much money on it (retails at approximately $25.00).
