Benefit Benetint Review

As you guys know, I am a big fan of Benefit products. They always have cute and innovatively packaged products - how could a girl resist? Today I am going to be talking about another one of my fave Benefit products which I repurchased earlier this year because I loved it so much.

As the name suggests, this is a rose coloured lip tint or a lip stain. According to the packaging it can also be used as a cheek stain but since the packaging makes it difficult to apply and blend on the cheeks, I tend to use it only on my lips. Either way, I like the fact that it has more than one use.

When I was younger, I never liked using lip stains as the colour pay off was always so fake looking, if you know what I mean. I was so happy when I finally stumbled upon a product which gives a lovely, natural looking hit of colour to your lips without going over the top.

I absolutely love the pretty pink colour that this product gives to the lips - it is my natural lip colour but better!

Even though there are some great aspects to this product, I am the first to admit that it does have its flaws. Firstly, the packaging is not very convenient or hygienic for that matter. Even though it looks cool, I am not a fan of the brush applicator that reminds me of a nail polish bottle. The bottle is also not very convenient to carry in my handbag as I get worried that it will spill at any moment.

Other than the packaging design flaws, I think that this is a fabulous little product. It lasts several hours after being applied on the lips without budging. I like to use it first thing in the morning especially on days when I am after a minimal makeup look - you just need a nice gloss or a lip balm on top and you are ready to go!

Overall, I love this product because it is so easy to use and has great lasting power. Like other Benefit products, it is on the pricey side, retailing at around $55.00 AUD at my local Myer but given that a 12.5ml bottle lasts a good while I think that it is not that bad if you can afford to splurge a little.

What is your favorite Benefit product?

I've only tried mine on the cheeks so far and have had no luck. It either blends away to nothing or if I leave it too long I look like Ronald Macdonald!
I threw it in the drawer in disgust but didn't even think of using it as a lip tint (even though that's what it's marketed as... duh!) I'll have to dig it out and try it on the lips :)

Christine the trick with applying these tints is tapping it on. Often if you rub them on they go streaky. At least that is what the Benefit sales assistant told me when I got my Posie Tint. It can be hard to get used to but if you apply a little gradually it builds up to a really even colour.

I also agree with the packaging issues but I can't really think of another way to do it. A pump would dispense too much and a squeezy tube would probably end up everywhere.
