Review of the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer

Hi lovelies, today I thought that I would do a quick review of the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. With the heat wave that has been hitting our shores lately, I have been opting for a tinted moisturizer rather than wearing a full face of foundation every day.

I noticed that a Laura Mercier counter popped up at my local Myer store a few months ago so I thought that now would be the perfect time to do a review on one of her products as it is finally readily available in Australia.

Even though the brand is relatively new in Australia, I think that Laura Mercier has been available other countries for several years now.

I was looking for a tinted moisturizer that would let my skin breathe but also even out my skin tone so that I could feel confident wearing it out. As you can see from the above pictures, this moisturizer comes in a well sized 50ml tube which is great for taking with you on the go especially when you are travelling. This is actually all I wore on our recent trip to Croatia as the weather was so hot and I didn't want to wear a full face of foundation on the beach.

The product itself is a nice light consistency which is easy to work with and blend into the skin. It dries to a flawless finish and gives a light coverage which is exactly what I like. This product is buildable to an extent - you can safely apply one extra layer for more coverage but I wouldn't recommend applying too many layers as it becomes messy looking.

The thing that caught my eye about this tinted moisturizer over the other ones available was the fact that this one is oil free which is perfect for people like me who have combination skin. I find that my skin tends to get super oily on hot summer days so the fact that this moisturizer is oil free helps keep my face less oily then it would otherwise be. The moisturizer also contains SPF20+ with UVA/UVB protection which is great to see, although it doesn't stop me from wearing my favorite sunscreen underneath for extra protection.

Even though I think that this tinted moisturizer is great, I don't particularly like the scent of the product. The scent is hard to describe but needless to say, I don't think that it is pleasant and think that it really lets down an otherwise great product. I find that I have to be careful when applying the product near my eyes as the scent tends to irritate them and make them watery. I haven't had many products irritate my eyes this way so this is very unusual for me.

Overall, I think that this is a pretty good product although because it irritates my eyes, I would not repurchase it. If you are considering purchasing this product, I would recommend that you go to your local Laura Mercier counter to test it out first just to see whether you like the scent and to see whether it irritates you. This product retails at around $78 in Australia but you can get it for $43 at Sephora.

Have you tried many Laura Mercier products? What do you think of them?

I have tried a Laura Mercier powder foundation, which I absolutely love, but I haven't really tried any of their other products. This was something I was interested in, but I have way too many foundations at the moment!

This is my fave tinted moisturiser ever! I love it. It's a shame it irritates your eyes :( I've never had any issues like that. I cannot believe how much it retails for here (I bought mine off ebay used) wahhh that makes me scared to finish it haha!
