Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain Review

It is not every day that I come across a product that I absolutely hate. My latest Revlon purchase is such a poor product that I felt compelled to share my thoughts as your trusted beauty blogger. The whole reason behind starting this blog was to provide honest reviews to you, and that is what I am doing today.

Before & After
I feel like this was a silly purchase because I had actually read some great reviews about Revlon Just Bitten Lipstains so that was the reason that I went out to buy this product. The thing that I didn't realise at the time is that Revlon actually has two products with similar names and unfortunately for me I didn't buy the good one (picture of the good one below).

I usually really like two-in-one type of products but this one just does not do it well at all. Firstly,  the applicator is so poorly designed that it is unpleasant to use. The product itself is like a thick texta permanent marker that you would not imagine using on your lips. Even though the marker applicator provides precise colour, it does not glide smoothly but instead is very rough on your lips. I feel that the marker applicator is rather dry and does not deposit enough colour so it takes a couple of coats to make it noticeable.

Secondly, the lip balm on the other end of the product is average. You only receive about 2cm of lip balm which is tiny and it also does not moisturise the lips at all. I don't think that the texta marker and the lip balm work well together because the marker is drying and the lip balm does nothing to help with that.

I purchased this lipstain in the colour 'Desire' and that is probably the only thing I liked about this product. It is a lovely pink that is not too bright and gave my lips a naturally pink tint. The product is lightweight when applied so it is comfortable to wear. It also does not transfer so you are perfectly kissable whilst wearing it. However, unlike the product description, this product does not have long lasting power as it disappears from sight after only an hour.

I don't know why any company would think that having a texta marker as a lipstain would be a good idea. I think that permanent markers should stay in the stationery cupboard and never be used for makeup. Retailing at $17.95 I think that this product was a complete waste of money and would never recommend it to anyone!

I bought one of these too - and I got absolutely no colour out of the texta, just REALLY light orange-ish liquid that dried leaving no colour stain on my lips or hand, even after going over it about 10 times. Waste of money!

I've seen some of these texta shaped lip stain products before, and always wondered what they'd feel like on the lips! I have dry lips, so I imagine this would look awful on me~
    Thanks for the review :)
