Revlon Lip Butter Review

I have been a little late getting on the lip butter band wagon but I knew that I would eventually catch up and now I can see what all the fuss is about. When I fist saw these on the internet I thought that all the colours were to bright for me because I tend to wear neutral colours every day but I have been pleasantly surprised at how wearable they are.

As you guys know, I went to America a couple of months ago and since cosmetics (and everything else for that matter!) is super cheap over there, I decided to get a few more then I would have if I was paying Australian prices for them. Actually, I probably would have only bought one because they retail at $24.95 each in Australia and in America I got them for around $6.00 each - yea, big price difference.

The colours I got are: Sugar Plum, Berry Smoothie, Peach Parfait, Strawberry Shortcake and Cotton Candy. They are all so beautiful and incredibly pigmented, I have been amazed with their quality.

As their name suggests, they are very moisturizing and seem to be something in between a lipstick and a lip gloss. I love how they feel on my lips and aren't sticky. I did notice that they do not have very good staying power so if you are looking for something long wearing then I would give these a miss. Having said that, these products are so smooth and lovely, I don't mind having to reapply them often.

The only colour I found to apply with a grainy texture is Peach Parfait, the rest are all smooth and buttery in texture. I am not sure whether it is just the one I have or whether they are all like that. Other than the texture, the colour is beautiful as you can see below. (I note that the colour swatches are in the same order as the above picture with the names of the colours.)

I have to say that the colour Strawberry Shortcake is my favorite at the moment and it is perfect for spring. Although their price in Australia is a bit steep, I still love these lip butters and would highly recommend them especially if you can get them on sale.

Have you tried Revlon lip butters? What is your favorite colour?

Oh wow awesome price :D I only have one - lollipop. It's okay, I'm not a huge fan of the formula.
