Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil

You ladies probably already have noticed a new brand that has reached our shores earlier this year - Essence. Even though it is pretty new to Australia, this brand has been available in Europe for many years. I remember when I was in high school and every time we used to travel to Germany to visit family, I would always stock up on Essence goodies.

Ever since I discovered this brand, I have always been impressed with the quality of their products and their value for money.

Until recently, I thought that I had grown out of my phase of using Essence products. I thought that now, many years after finishing high school, that I was too old for this brand. Well... I am glad to say that I was wrong, even if a brand might be targeted at a younger audience, that doesn't mean I can't use them! So, a few weeks ago when I was in Target, I checked out the Essence section and made an impulse purchase.

I really love wearing nude shades on my eyes so I picked up an Essence long lasting eye pencil in the colour 10 Almost Famous. It is such a lovely champagne colour with a hint of shimmer. For such a cheap price tag of $2.95 this product is super affordable for every budget.

The product comes as a mechanical pencil which contains a twist mechanism to expose more product. So there is no need to sharpen it and no mess. This also means that it gives precise application every time.

Don't let the price tag of this product fool you, it is surprisingly good quality. Even though I purchased a light colour, it is beautifully pigmented and applies smoothly on your eyes without any tugging. It also lasts an entire day at work with no problems.

Since this purchase, I have fallen in love with Essence products all over again. As always, they are great value for money and generally great quality. However, I have found that their products can be a bit of a hit-or-miss and even though one colour in the collection is awesome, another may be poor quality, so make sure you always try the testers before you buy. Having said that, I would still recommend their products and would purchase them again.

What do you think about Essence products?

I use some products of Essence. I think they are really good for their price however their eyeshadows are not the best. You have to put a lot of it to have a light color. And I think the lipsticks are a little bit drying and again the colors aren't that great. It looks like you only have sparkles on your lips.
But still I really like their other products.

I've never tried any Essence products yet, but that's quite a bargain for an eye pencil :)
