Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Makeup Review

I am so thrilled to be back with a new blog post! If you guys follow me on twitter, you probably already know all about the computer troubles I have been having over the past few months. Luckily I have managed to get a replacement laptop after a lot of arguing with Dick Smith and I finally have a (hopefully!) non faulty and working laptop.

Today I thought I would write a quick review about a fantastic foundation that I have been using since December last year. During the summer months I was struggling to find a foundation which would last all day and give me good coverage when I needed it. That was until I discovered the Maybelline SuperStay 24 hour makeup.

This foundation claims to have a micro-flex formula, have no transfer and provide 24 hour wear. It also comes in a generous sized 30ml bottle which has lasted me a few months already. The bottle itself is easy to hold but doesn’t come with a pump so it takes a bit of getting used to so that you don’t pour too much product. I usually put a little product on the back of my hand and apply it from there with a stippling brush to get an flawless finish.

When I first started using this product during December and January, it was right in the middle of summer and the weather was so hot. This ended up being a great test for this product and I must say that I was impressed with the results. I applied it before work usually around 6 am and when I got home at 6 pm, my makeup was still flawless and had not melted off even after a full 12 hours of wear. I might also add that I have a pretty oily T-zone as well so I did set my foundation with powder before I left for work.

This product provides medium to full coverage and love how it is a light runny formula which is easy to work with and blends beautifully on the skin. Even though this product does provide long wear, it doesn’t really live up to its claim of being non transferable as I did notice transfer when I was taking off my shirt. Having said that, I am yet to come across a foundation which won’t have any transfer on your clothes so I don’t think that this is a big let down.

This foundation retails for $21.95 (cheaper if you find it on special at Priceline or Target) and is great value for money and comparable to higher end brands.

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think of it?

Sounds pretty impressive that it stayed on for so long in hot conditions :) Love the blouse you're wearing in that video!
