Product Review: Sally Hansen - Advanced Hard as Nails

Today I thought I would share with you my favorite nail hardener. Ever since I had my acrylic nails removed a couple of months ago, my nails have been so weak and brittle. It has taken so long for my nails to recover but I have found that the 'Sally Hansen - Advanced Hard as Nails with Nylon and Retinol' has helped them a lot.

The product pictured above is the in the colour Natural. Even though the polish looks pale pink in the packaging (not well shown in the picture since I have used up most of it!), it actually applies clear on your nails.

The product packaging states that this product is meant to "nourish, hydrate and smooth your nails. Retinol and copper peptides deliver intense hydration to dry, thirsty nails. Omega 3 and soy reduce the appearance of ridges and imperfections, while extra-strength nylon fortifies nails and helps prevent chipping, splitting and peeling. The exclusive glide brush provides smooth, flawless colour."

I use this nail polish as a base coat before applying any other coloured polish. I have found that this nail polish helps avoid nail polish stains on my nails which I would have otherwise gotten if I had not applied it as a base coat. Also there has been a noticeable improvement in the strength and flexibility of my nails since I have been using this product. My nails no longer break quite so easily and they are a lot stronger than before I started using this product. However, this product does not make my polish last longer nor does it prevent it chipping.

Overall, I have been impressed with this product and would recommend it if you are looking for a good quality nail hardening treatment. It retails for $9.95 and you can find it at your local Priceline or Kmart.

What is your favorite nail hardening treatment?

Oh I think I need to put this on my list on my next Target or Ulta run. Anything to make my nails strong this time of year sounds good to me!

Congratulations on having your acrylic nails taken off! (I know how hard the next few weeks would of been). I use the hard as nails in my salon, i feel it works better than more expensive brands.
You should also try out the sally Hansen nail effects- good for hiding ugly nails damaged from acrylic (helps get you through that period where you just want to gt your acrylics put back on.
    Good work :D
