Nail Polish of the Week: Sally Hansen - Slick Slate

This week I have gone for a more neutral coloured nail polish. For some reason I feel that this is kind of a serious colour especially compared to last week's polish.

The colour I have been wearing is called 310 Slick Slate and it is from the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri fast drying nail color collection. I think it is quite a pretty dirty brown colour.

This nail polish has quite a thick creamy formula so you only need one coat in order to get an opaque looking colour on your nails. As the name suggests, this polish has a conveniently quick drying time - approximately 1 minute wait. This is perfect for times when you are in a hurry and want to have pretty nails without the waiting time. It is also a high shine polish which is exactly what I like.

The polish also comes with quite a wide flat brush, which to be honest I found a bit fiddly when I first tried it so it took me a little practice to learn how to use it without getting nail polish on the sides of my finger. Once you get hang of using the brush, you only need 1 or 2 strokes in order to cover your entire nail.

Even though I think this is a great polish, I was not impressed with the chipping side of things. This product claims to be chip-free for up to 10 days but unfortunately for me, it started chipping after around 2 days! I don't think this polish lasts any longer than the cheap nail polishes that I like to buy. Since the polish chipped so fast I didn't wear it for too long so I can't really say much about whether it fades after extended wear, although I did not notice any fading while I wore it.

This nail polish retails at $13.95 (AUD) and you can purchase it at your local Target or Kmart.

I am a bit picky when it comes to nail polish and don't like to pay more than $10 for a polish unless it is amazing. So I probably would have to think twice before purchasing this one again just because it chips so quickly.

What colour nail polish have you been wearing this week?

I really like this colour instead of black. Since I'm pale, black can look too harsh on my skin.

I bought the cutex one in a quick dry formula and the brush is very similar. I made a mess the first time. It's great though as it drys so quick and gives a thick coat the first time so only one coat is needed.

I love that colour! Pity it chips so quickly :( I am a bit of a cheapo when it comes to nail polish and don't like spending more than $5 for a bottle (unless it is amazing!)
